Depending on our intake the average turnaround is 10-14 business days.

We calculate the cost of cleaning based on square footage size and quality of rug. Cleaning starts at $3.50 per square foot.  If animal urine is present or-the rug is prone to color bleeding, we charge an additional $1.00 per sq ft.

We do offer complimentary pick up and delivery for area rugs with a minimum of 100 sq ft within our service area. For smaller rugs that do not meet the 100 sq ft minimum, pickup and delivery may be available within our service area for a small transportation fee.

For locations beyond 20 miles from zip code 27713, a flat $50 fee applies for each trip. This fee covers locations up to approximately 35 miles from our location

Yes, we clean both hand-tufted and machine-made rugs. Before cleaning, we inspect each rug to identify its fibers, construction, dyes, backing and overall condition. This allows us to select a cleaning process appropriate for that particular rug.

Hand-tufted rugs are constructed differently from hand-knotted rugs. Their pile is inserted into a foundation material and secured with a layer of latex adhesive, after which a fabric backing is applied. Unfortunately, many hand-tufted rugs are made with lower-quality latex that deteriorates as the rug ages.

A traditional full wash can accelerate the breakdown of weakened latex. This may cause the backing to separate, release powder or develop an unpleasant odor. Because many hand-tufted rugs cannot safely tolerate the amount of water used during a complete wash, we often perform a controlled surface cleaning instead. This limits moisture while safely cleaning and refreshing the pile.

Machine-made rugs may contain wool, nylon, polyester, polypropylene or a combination of fibers. They may also have different backing materials that respond differently to water and cleaning agents. We tailor the cleaning method to the rug’s materials and condition rather than treating every rug the same way.

If a rug has deteriorating latex, weakened backing, unstable dyes or other pre-existing damage, we will explain its condition and any potential risks before cleaning begins.

Act quickly, but do not rub or scrub the spill. Use a clean, white, absorbent towel to blot the area gently, working from the outside toward the center so the liquid does not spread. Continue blotting with fresh sections of the towel until no more moisture transfers.

If possible, place a clean towel beneath the affected area to absorb liquid that has passed through the rug. Carefully remove any solid material with a spoon rather than pushing it deeper into the pile.

Do not use bleach, laundry detergent, carpet cleaner or any product labeled “Oxy.” Oxygen-based cleaners may remove or alter the rug’s dyes and cause permanent discoloration.

You may rinse the affected area carefully with tepid water, but never use hot or boiling water. Avoid saturating the rug. If the stain disappears completely and the rug’s colors remain stable, a small amount of white distilled vinegar diluted in tepid water may be used as a final rinse. Blot the area thoroughly afterward and allow it to dry completely.

If color transfers to the towel, the stain remains visible or you are uncertain about the rug’s fibers or dyes, stop and contact a professional rug cleaner. Explain what was spilled, what was applied and when the accident occurred. Prompt treatment offers the best chance of preventing permanent damage.

Yes, the fringe on an Oriental rug can often be repaired, but the work may be more involved than simply replacing a decorative trim.

Every hand-knotted rug is constructed on a foundation of warp and weft. The warp consists of the foundation strands that run lengthwise from one end of the rug to the other, while the weft runs from side to side. The visible fringe is an extension of the warp—not the weft—and is therefore part of the rug’s structure.

When the fringe wears away or breaks, it often means that portions of the original warp have also been lost. This can make replacement challenging, especially if the damage has progressed into the pile. Depending on the rug’s condition, the repair may involve securing the remaining ends, rebuilding missing foundation areas or carefully adding new fringe that is compatible with the original construction.

Early repair is important. Securing worn ends before the damage moves farther into the rug can reduce the amount of restoration required. We inspect each rug individually to determine the most appropriate repair method.

Signs of moth activity in a wool rug can include loose pile, thinning or bare areas, small patches where the wool has disappeared, fine webbing, cocoons, larvae or sand-like debris. Damage often begins on the back of the rug or in dark, undisturbed areas beneath furniture where it may not be immediately visible.

Adult moths do not eat wool; the larvae cause the damage as they feed on natural fibers. If you suspect moth activity, inspect the front and back of the rug as well as the floor and rug pad beneath it. The rug should be separated from other wool textiles and professionally evaluated as soon as possible.

Early treatment can help prevent additional damage. After the moth activity has been addressed, damaged areas may be repairable depending on the rug’s construction and the extent of the loss.

How often a rug should be professionally cleaned depends on where it is used and the amount of activity it receives. As a general guideline, rugs in high traffic areas should be professionally cleaned every two to three years. Rugs in lightly used rooms may only need cleaning every four to six years.

Homes with pets or children may require more frequent cleaning. A rug beneath a dinning table may also need earlier attention because of food and drink spills.

Visible dirt is not always the best indicator, since dust and grit can settle deep within the pile. If the colors appear dull, the rug develops an odor, or it experiences a spil or pet accident, we recommend having it inspected rather than waiting for the usual cleaning interval.

We will make every effort to safely remove stains from your rug before and during the washing process. However, we can’t guarantee the complete removal of every stain. Certain factors, such as the type of stain, the fiber composition of the rug, the age of the rug, and any previous treatments can affect the outcome.

We assess every rug individual and apply the most effective cleaning methods available. If a stain proves particularly stubborn, we’ll discuss alternative solutions with you.

We do all kinds. From small corners and edging, to major reweaves, moth damage repair, and resizing.
