This semi-antique Persian Mahal rug was handwoven in Iran and dates to the 1940s. Measuring approximately 8′ x 10’4″, this piece features a classic all-over floral design with a warm red field, navy main border, and accents of ivory, teal, gold, and soft earth tones. Mahal rugs are admired for their decorative patterns and relaxed character.
This rug is being offered on consignment by a longtime client who is currently downsizing. It has been well enjoyed over the years and shows a few areas of low pile, which is normal and consistent with a rug of this age. The sides and ends are complete and require no repairs. Overall, it presents beautifully and has lots of character.
