Single Tree Gabbeh

A striking hand-knotted Gabbeh featuring a stylized tree rising from a gently rolling landscape. Small animal figures appear at the foot of the tree, while a few birds are depicted near the top, bringing life and movement to the scene. The rich blue field displays abrash, with natural shifts from deep indigo to softer shades of blue.

Woven in northern Afghanistan by Turkmen weavers using hand-spun wool and natural dyes, this rug has approximately 120 knots per square inch. It reinterprets a traditional Iranian Gabbeh design through time-honored Turkmen weaving techniques.
